If you visit Pokhara and skip this museum, you just waste a perfect opportunity to learn about the Himalayas. It costs 500 rupees per foreigner but the cost is well justified. This museum presents a vast of information regarding the mountains and the people of Nepal. It's very educational.... and not boring. You won't regret coming here.

Went with a friend to the International Mountain Museum. It was nice and clean. The workers there were friendly. We had a good time. There was a short film we watched there and then we saw all the things that were on exhibit. There were some very beautiful images of different mountains and other in which all the peaks were labeled. They also had some unique and beautiful furniture. I recommend anyone that is interested in nature and mountains to go.

International Mountain Museum is a must visit place.

The museum exhibits all information about mountain, mountaineer and their gadget, dress and useful thing like coat, jacket, shoes, hand gloves, sleeping bag, camping tent and many more things.

The museum also shows documentary on mountains.

The museum is well maintained and labelled detail information.

Highly recommended place for visiting.

500 NPR per (tourist) visitor. Good amount of information. My friend and I were there for about 2 hours however if you are interested in reading everything you could easily be there for hours.
Some areas are fuller than others and it can be slightly confusing if you are following the "correct path" through the museum. Though they did try to put the numbered signs in visible easy to understand steps.
Some QR codes for an app that i did not use so I'm not sure how well it works.
Good information and lots of reading.
There is a ticket counter at the entrance and then once you walk through the garden there was a ticket collector at the museum entrance and a security guard and metal detector to walk through.
They did not make us give them our bags or anything.
There is also a restaurant and souvenir shop we did not visit but saw signs for outside.

Amazing experience! The museum is one of the most easy to follow, informative, and doesnt overload the senses with information (which i find museums tend to do). They even show a nice documentary (although clearly made many years back) on the Himalaya range and the people. The architecture is truly remarkable - very spacious inside and looks like a small mountain nestled within other mountains from outside. Absolutely loved the experience and am sure will visit again if chance permits.

One of the best place to visit in Pokhara. You can learn many things while visiting there. They have projected us one video which was very beautiful and we learned some fact with it...I hope i will visit it again????????

This must-see attraction in Pokhara provides information about the various mountains, cultures, history, and other topics. A museum in a very peaceful setting gives you a different vibe. I recommend that everyone visit this location. Ticket prices may vary, with discounts available for students and the elderly.
