I visited the temple recently and it was such a gem of a place. It was serene, spacious, peaceful, full of vibrant details and religious ambiance. It was an opportunity of a lifetime to see such a significant place in the Hindu religion. The whole city was a nice change. I liked every bit of the temple. There were people from all ages, places, backgrounds, who were there to see the beauty and magnificence of the temple. Would definitely recommend it to people who want to explore religious places and study their architecture or someone who just wants to find peace amidst the chaos.

It is great from every point of view.
Extreme sacred and holy temple
Great aesthetic appearance and design, huge religious and cultural value.
However surrounding seems somewhat unmanaged (outside the temple compounds as well as inside the worshipping area of temple) and also tall and high raised buildings are creating some challenges to its existence.

Keeping everything aside, whoever reading this review, you should visit it once !

Located in Janakpur, Nepal. This temple is dedicated to Sita ji and it's believed that she lived here.

The temple was renovated later, and Is if mixed Indian-Nepalese architecture.

Temple closed at 12:00/12:30 so and later opens at 3:00 PM so kindly ensure you're there before or after the closed timings.

It's made of marble, and there is a museum that is there to share a glimpse of Sita Ji's history.

No fees for mandir, museum fee is INR 10/- per person.

The temple inside is full of Mithila and Madhubani art and paintings on the wall.

Just close to the temple is the Vivaah Mandap (Marriage Hall), where the marriage of Sita ji and Lord Rama is supposed to have taken place.

The temple premises is very spacious and can accomodate 1000s of devotees in one time.

When you go there, do laugh a lot as that is expected when you're visiting Sita's abode. There are a number of hoardings asking to smile and laugh during the visit.

Infact, devotees raise their hands and laugh during the aarti while receiving encouragement from the Priests to do so.

It's marvellous how thousands of years of history has come to us and we remembers them through their actions and conduct.

The premises were crowded but it was still a very serene experience.

Jai Sita Maiya! Jai Shree Ram!

I couldn't find a flaw to puch at this temple. The construction, look, serenity, location, etc etc everything is awesome.

The museum, madhubani paintings tells so much about our history/mythology. You can easily spend an entire day here.

Magnificent temple of Sita Mata, the ikon of Janakpur Dham looked majestic and beautiful. Temple was built in 1910 AD by the queen Vrisha Bhanu of Tikamgarh now Madhya Pradesh India. Yard at front was large to accommodate huge crowd during festivals. A three story building made of stone u0026 marble was painted in white. Windows looked colorful, rooms were decorated with national flag of Nepal. Vivah Mandap where marriage ceremony of Ram u0026 Sita took place was crowded with devotees. A great temple must not miss to visit while in Janakpur.

Janki Temple is one of the most historical, cultural and touristic place of Nepal. It's near to India (Bhitamore Border in Bihar). It is one of the greatest pilgrimage sites for Hindus as it is Birthplace of Goddess Sita. Nepal tour is incomplete without visit Janki Temple.
Temple is beautifully designed and decorated and outside court is Glittering white with beautiful marble work. One of the most important places of Hinduism. Must visit if you are going to Nepal. 4-5 temples in Janakpur, u can visit in 1 day. Train facilities also available here and only one place in nepal where train is running.

Mandir is very beautiful. The architect and design is very good . People come to do various religious activities. A lot of Indians from Bihar were seen . However there is hardly any good hotels nearby. The mandir is bang inside the city. People and traffic is seen outside mandir throughout the day . The weather is quite warm on Apr to Jul. Quality of food in nearby hotels is pathetic.
