Temple is situated on northern end of Kathmandu. There is statue of Lord Vishnu lying on seshnag in a pool. There are various stories about this temple. According to one story, a farmer named Neelkanth found the statue while ploughing the field. Farmer was old so it was named as Budhanilkanth. Environment is peaceful. Photography of statue is not allowed. Mela takes place on 11th day of Karthik month. Nepali marriage also takes place in temple

Budhanilkantha Temple
Located in Budhanilkantha, Nepal.This temple is all about of Lord Maha Vishnu.
Budhanilkantha Temple is situated below the Shivapuri Hill at the northern end of the Kathmandu Valley.
Budhanilkantha Template is considered the largest stone carving in Nepal.

Legends says one of the old man while ploughing his rice field then suddenly blood came out later that old man was terrified and digging his field and found the huge idol of Lord Maha Vishnu after that he is ashamed for hurting Lord Maha Vishnu and apologize but Lord Maha Vishnu is so pleased because of his humbled and honestly so giving him blessings and says this temples named as a Budhanilkantha and will be famous.

Another legends says - one of the king of Nepal is visiting the Lord Maha Vishnu temple daily in India later he had a problem traveling due to his old days so requested to Lord Maha Vishnu to stay near his kingdom. That's why Lord Maha Vishnu is here with his full image but king is doubtful on Lord Maha Vishnu and says you are not the same lord which I always visit. Hearing this Lord Maha Vishnu Guard( Sewak) SeshNaag is angry and cursed the king henceforth no king of this kingdom can visit this temple, if tries then gonna punished. From that day no any Royal family visit this temple.
Lord Maha Vishnu temple known as Budhanilkantha Temple which is one of the beautiful and pleasant Temple.
Most surprising fact of this temple is once you bend down and look towards to the pond you can see the same image of Lord Maha Vishnu.

This place is awesome to spend and feel the vibes of energy. Everything I get from here is full of peace, joy and enlightenment.

The courses here are affordable, genuine. The location here itself is peaceful and appropriate that is at the lap of nature. I found entire environment suitable for Yoga and meditation.
