One of the last remaining original Kopitiam in Klang Old Town that has been serving somehreat food and drinks. Its always crowded, especially on weekends and in the mornings. I have eaten here several times, mostly in the past like 10 to 20 years ago. My last visit here was on 2 July, 2022, and much of the younger generation seems to be the regulars now.

The kopi is still awesome, but the food has lost some original taste. Its still ok, not like before. I guess with rising cost of raw materials, many are cutting corners and so on. Overall, if you want a nice kopitiam experience, this is not the place cause you will be stressed waiting for a place. It would be a better choice to come on a weekday.

Well, for a 80-year-old business, it's got to be worth a try if you have not experienced this place. Come extra early, or just after lunch to avoid crowds. Peak is from 8am to 11am. Price still decent.

A locale kopitiam. Not too crowded during the weekdays.
Ordered their classic roti bakar (served with butter u0026 kaya) yet i love their nasi lemak ('imported' from pulau ketam) which was served with special sambal and small 'prawn'.

I got my orders fast eventhough busy crowd in the morning. Coffee still as good over the years. 'Telor goyang' with roti is still one of the traditional classics. The huge potato curry puff was also nice.

After reading rave reviews about this popular Hainanese Kopitiam I decided to check it out on my weekly 'outings'. I took the ktm commuter train from Subang Jaya at about 7:59 am and arrived at Ktm Klang at 7:15 am. The Kopitiam is just a 3 min walk from the Station! The place preserved its old-school look with marble top tables and solid wooden stools but is well lit and clean. Even on weekdays, the place is almost packed by 8:30 am. I ordered the roti Gedung, the flagship breakfast set with twin half-boiled eggs on top of well-spread kaya butter toasts: washed down with a fragrant and flavourful kopi O with less sugar. Service was courteous and fast. Prices are competitive and reasonable. Parking spaces are always an issue for places near the town centre train station.

The kopi and taste is not to my liking. Average. Nothing special. Toast bread with half boiled egg is typical, won’t go wrong. The kaya is normal, not to my liking as well. I preferred those that orange transparent colour type of kaya.
Will I go back? Solid NO. I will not recommend. If you would like to give it a try, do drop by around 8 before the crowd starts.

Perhaps the locals like this classic kopitiam but not so much for us from PJ, the kopi is not really our type, kaya tastes funny with ginger, nasi lemak is fine, nasi lemak pulau ketam is something different with mini prawns.

My sharing today is a bit different but related to this very popular kopitiam. If you are a long time patron perhaps you can remember there is a stall up front of this kopitiam which is generally the reason why this place often sees a long line up. My share today is about this Nasi Lemak stall which I found ( this just my preference but if you too agree then read on )… they moved sometime back but yet the long line up still forms when comes weekend. Well today we came back here but was hoping to find out where this NL stall moved to. The usual long lined made us decided not to eat at Chong Kok but rather try the nearby stalls. Zazammm guess what, we found the stall that once throned the kopitiam. Their lauk especially the sotong sambal and when they flood your plate, trust me …. You will leave a mirror clean plate ????????????????????????. So glad we venture further from the landing point and found our gem!!!
